When you first start, its normal to be a little nervous. Fear of the unknown, fear of a new place, fear of people possibly not liking you. These are fears we all struggle with on a regular basis. It is important we do not let these fears stop us. Growth begins beyond your comfort zone.
Most martial arts clubs today are very friendly and inviting. Martial arts have evolved from an art that focused on physically developing a person to also helping them develop mentally and socially. Clubs tend to be a great place for people to socialize and make new friends with like-minded people.
At Yarra MMA, we have developed a culture of kindness and positivity. We teach our members that your training partner is someone you need to cherish and value. Without them, you are not able to train. We foster a family mentality.
Our members come from all over Logan. From Yarrabilba, Logan Village, Jimboomba, Flagstone, Tamborine, Mount Tamborine and as far as Coomera and Browns Plains. Yarra MMA has become a hub for the Logan area for individuals looking for a one stop shop offering high quality coaching with a family friendly atmosphere.
The coaches have been training and in the industry for a very long time. They have a shared experience of over 30 years across multiple discipline. They have competed and coached athletes at all levels. Their approach to teaching is to keep it fun but to train hard. Everyone is there for a reason, they will hold you accountable to yourself. Through this, we have seen many members achieve incredible results.
There’s a wide range of classes and each one will deliver something unique. Our coaches are experts in bringing out the best in people. With each class, coaches can really target the exercises and give our members an experience to remember.

Program includes:
- Two (2) week assisted course for beginners
- Preliminary talk on how classes are run and general gym etiquette
- Instructions on how to wrap your hands
- Instructions on how to punch, kick and grapple
- You will be partnered up with a more experienced member to assist you in the class
- A debrief at the end of class to make sure you understood the class and for feedback
